Dick is a former Minister of Religion and former Industrial Chaplain to the Deep Sea Fishing Industry. He has written numerous songs, poems and lyrics and continues to write new material, both for this site and on our sister poems site.

Previously, as a salvation Army Officer, as an industrial chaplain to the commercial fishing industry, as a police officer and as a counsellor he had been intimately involved in funerals. As well as conducting many funerals, he has also broken news of someone's death and counselled bereaved relatives. It was those experiences that make his 'Still I Will Love You' so meaningful, containing as it does his acclaimed 'Alzheimer's', 'Suicide', 'Biker' and his several poems for still-born babies or infants.

His second collection of poems. 'God! That Ark Stank' was created out of his need as a Salvation Army Officer to keep the interest of children during Sunday services. The collection is a 'Horribly History' type collection of some of the most well known Bible Stories.
