Granny's Poem

She started as a daughter,
a sister and a friend
I wish i could have known her
the way she was back then.
She quickly grew into a wife
when she was wed to my Grandpa
And from the stories that I've heard,
they gave that love their all.

Then one day they got the news
that soon she'd be a mother
To Gail, Wayne and Little Lynn,
she loved them like no other.
She was patient and kind
and gave them all of her love
And as we're gathered here today,
she smiles at them from above.

Then one day I came along
and brought with me two others
She loved to spoil us rotten,
just like all Grandmothers
The three of us, her pride and joy,
she gave us all her heart.
I'll never second guess it,
she loved us from the start

She lived a full and happy life
that I know she'd not regret
And if she could talk to us today,
she'd tell us not to fret.
She'd tell us of the wonders
that the Lord has for us all
And how she's waiting patiently,
right beside Grandpa.

No longer will she suffer,
or ever again be pained,
Never will she be exhausted,
or ever again feel drained.
And though her earthly journeys ended,
she's gained a great reward.
Because now she walks the streets of gold,
forever with the Lord.

thank you

this poem is absolutely GREAT! My grandmother passed away a few days ago, and I was asked to get up and read something in memory of her, for her and I were very close!

With all the heartache I've been going through I haven't been able to put pen to paper at all, and I searched the internet all night and day looking for something that fight her and sounded good together and I found NOTHING that I really liked or that meant something.

When I finally came across this one, I just KNEW IT WAS THE ONE, I changed some parts to make it more personal and it really does sound great. I will be reading it tomorrow night at the services. THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR SHAREING THIS!
