My Shepherd (song)

The Lord is my Shepherd
No need, could be more dear
He leads me beside still waters
With green pastures growing near

He restores to me, my soul again
My cup will overflow
He leads me in his righteous path
To follow, where it goes

When I walk through the valley
And the shadows of death are near
His rod and staff, will comfort me
There's no evil there, I fear

A table he has set for me
Before those who would have me fail
And in his house, with all his flock
Forever...I will dwell

(Note)
Psalm 23, was originally written as a song, by King David in the Hebrew language. After it was translated into English, It no longer sounded like a song.
I wanted to use this verse as a chorus, in a song I am working on. And keep it as accurate as possible, while keeping its intended message clear. This beautiful passage has helped so many people over the years, that I felt compelled to share it on this web site, because they offer these poems free of charge to the public.
God Bless.
