The Last Ride - Drag Racer

Motor oil was in his blood,
Petrol flowing through his heart.
Throttle reving but the flood,
Meant his engine wouldn't start.

The exhaust sounding rather rough,
Its noise as cutting as a knife.
The gallant spark not quite enough,
To fire his engine into life.

The key was turned, the throttle pushed,
Expecting now a cracking roar,
But the engine ... knackered ... bushed,
Wouldn't function any more.

The driver, (insert name), has died but still,
His soul rides onward to the west.
His wheels roll ahead, vale and hill,
To the winner’s circle-- eternal rest.

So we'll venture on with pride,
Remembering well the one who died.
Towards the sunset on our road,
Our dear friend who's gone before.

He Always Said

He always said, “I would have done,
So many things you see.
There were many many people,
That I would rather be.

I dream of flying spaceships,
And flying to the moon,
But I never managed it,
Perhaps was born too soon.

I dream of being famous,
of wealth and money too,
But I never really made it,
my name was simply 'Who?'”

He always said, “I would have done”.
But to me he always did.
He always said, “I love you”.
And I know he always did.

He cared and he provided,
The rock on which I stand.
I'm here today to tell you,
That he was always grand.

He may have not achieved his dream,
of fame and wealth untold.
But he gave to us his family,
A heart just filled with gold.

He always said, “I would have done”.
But he fulfilled his dream.
He lived to his potential,
We hold him in esteem.

He made us into dreamers,
With walls that cannot hold.
He helped us find potential,
A truth that must be told.

His life our inspiration,
His words are what we talk.
Our lives are his footsteps,
And in his shoes we walk.

Bowed tears of honour cried to the sorrow of my lonely soul.

Mourners gather to unit the binding power that kept you happy on earth, but miserable in depths that went untold.

Cried eyes that hath seen better days like when you walked through a door screaming love to the family.

Rumours of a happy man that will forever be missed, but not frowned upon no matter the decisions you made in life.

Yes, we will miss you, but we will not grieve and cry like torn Angels.

We will celebrate because we know you are in a better place and your looking down at us as we gone on through life without.

We might think we can't make it, but we will because we know that you would want us to be just as strong as you were.

So, to the man that was my uncle, my life, my friend, and my greatest advisor, I solute you with great honour.

You lived a happy life and I am proud to say that you are part of me and my family.

No more tears and heart ache from the pain that I feel inside. No more sorrow. No more feeling sorry and terrible.

To you, a good man, friend ,and family man, again I salute you
to the great clouds and skies that await for us
to once again be reunited with you.

We salute to you........THE MAN OF HONOUR.

We love you and no matter what, will always miss you.

One man in a thousand, Solomon says will
stick more close than a brother.
And it's worth seeking him all your days,
if you find him before the other.

on what the world sees in you.
But the thousandth man will stand your friend
with the whole world against you.

'Tis not promise nor prayer nor show
will settle the finding for thee.
Nine hundred and ninety nine of them go
by your looks, or your acts or your glory.
But if he finds you and you find him,
the rest of the world doesn't matter.
For the thousandth man will sink or swim
with you in any water.

It's you can use his purse with no more talk,
than he use his yours for his spendings,
and laugh and meet in your daily walk
as though there had been no lendings.
Nine hundred and ninety nine of them call
for silver and gold in their dealings,
but the thousandth man he's worth them all
because you can show him your feelings.

His wrong's your wrong, and his rights your right,
with that for your only reason!
